Why I am Never Playing Fantasy Football Again
Another year; another disappointing FFB season.
This year, at least, I finally participated in a live draft and I was very happy with my team. I did such a great job drafting that I won the regular season with 10 wins and only 3 losses. I scored more total points than any other team in the league and I was going into the playoffs with hopes of actually winning one of these things. But, alas, I was matched up with the 8th seed, who had a crazy year. This guy’s team scored a ton of points and was in the top three in total points scored, so I knew going into the game this guy had the potential to beat my team, if my team didn’t show up.
And my team didn’t show up.
Combined with a -1 performance by Sproles and a weird game where Payton Manning, the most prolific passer in NFL history, handed off the ball for three touchdowns. His primary target, Damaryus Thomas (my #1 receiver) only scored 3 points to his usual 25 or so. It’s frustrating because, to be totally honest, there is not a lot you can do to help your team win in FFB. I drafted well and my team stayed healthy and I should have won the whole thing, but I had a rough week. There was no one I left on my bench who would have made the difference and I can’t control what the players are doing on the field, so it is what it is.
And I’m disappointed.
I doubt I am going to play next year as it is just too frustrating.
Sigh… when does next season start?
