Orlando City Soccer Inaugural Game
With the Orlando City Soccer team joining the MLS, I thought it would be a good idea to purchase season tickets for me and the family. Yesterday was the Inaugural Game and it was a total blast.
I played soccer in High School and have always loved the sport but I have been slow to embrace the MLS. Now, however, I am all in.
The Citrus Bowl has been around for years and has always been a dump, but recently the city decided to renovate it and they really did a nice job. It holds 60K people now and while it will never be an awesome stadium, it can finally be considered a nice stadium. The seats were comfortable with great visibility, lots of concessions, reasonable prices, and the field looked great. They have added some nice jumbotrons and even when your vision was obscured, you could glance up on one of the screens and get back in the action.
The game was a lot of fun. Orlando was playing New York FC (another expansion team) so the play was a little ugly but it was still fun. New York scored late on their only shot on goal and then Orlando tied it up in the last minutes and you would have thought we had just won the World Cup. The noise was crazy.
I loved every minute of it!
